April – The estimate arrived but we still had questions as there were no drawings or detailed schedules such as for the replacement windows. These are being specially made to replicate the look of the 1800 windows but will be a single unit rather than the 6 separate panes. We also realised that, in order to do the work on the workshop, we will have to empty it out completely. This will take a long time and we will need to put the stuff somewhere out of the weather. We have asked about a lockable storage container. Because it has taken so long to get to this stage, we did not feel able to go ahead in June as offered as we need time to complete our vegetable planting before tackling emptying the workshop. We have therefore deferred the work until August.
