11 Sept 09. We got an email with information about Refit West which asked for expressions of interest to take part in a pilot scheme. This came at a good time for us, as we were wrestling with the problem of insulating our stone walls.
We had included energy saving measures when we refurbished the house 8 years ago, but did not tackle the knotty problem of our stone walls at that time. Although mostly we were pleased with what we had achieved, our living room, with its 2 outside walls and some rising damp, remained a cold spot. We had been racking our brains (i.e. trawling the internet!) trying to find out how we could deal with the walls. Unfortunately we were just getting more confused by the technical stuff which came up, so we jumped at the chance for some advice.
