We got word this week that the sub-contractors being used to do the external insulation are not ready to start next Monday & there’ll be a two week delay. We had intended to finish clearing out everything in readiness by this weekend but the delay has changed things a bit. We’ve been putting off some garden things in order to sort stuff, ready to go back to the garden once the work started. We decided that some of the garden jobs couldn’t wait for 3 weeks before we tackled them so we’ve given over this week to gardening. Happily, the climbers that we cut down earlier in the year are beginning to regenerate so we might not have lost them all.
One good thing about the delay though – we’ve just realised that we need to get the chimney swept before the new woodburner goes in. We checked with the sub-contractor and found that they do not do it. Now we’ve got to get a chimney sweep here in the next two weeks.
